This week, I was impressed by a few things from the study block. One of the first things that stood out to me was that you should not be focused on a single point on the horizon. Keeping your horizon broad leaves you so much room for opportunities that you might miss or pass on if your horizon isn't being kept open. Let your opportunity match and meet with your passions. In my case, I have disregarded my passions for so long because I thought that they were too insignificant. In A Hero's Journey, the speaker talks about how their program at Acton promises that you will learn how to make money. Although income is essential for any successful business, not making enough money has always stopped me from pursuing my passions when the opportunity comes around because they don't seem like financially secure investments. A lot of times, I wonder if my passions are going to help me reach my potential because, in the big picture of things, they seem like insignificant goals. Life is what you make it, and I intend to work hard to build my business. As much as I want to make a lot of money, I don't want that to be my measurement of success. My entrepreneurship will be one of the bigger reasons for living life like it matters.

Another thing that impressed me this week had to do more with gospel principles. In the talk titled Perseverance by James E. Faust, he spoke about how lessons he learned on his mission helped guide him as a businessman. This reminded me of the core values and the "I will/will not" assignment I did a while ago. It made me ponder if I separate my business life from my gospel life. I never want to lead a life that disconnects me from my Heavenly Father in certain aspects. Some of my biggest inspirations are Henry B. Eyring and most importantly, my father, Damon. The way that they preach and practice gospel and business encourages me to make sure that I respectfully and constantly practice them together in my life.
